How to snooze or deactivate your own direct listings when joining Travelnest

This article explains how to pause or remove direct listings you created yourself on booking sites like Airbnb or Booking.com, typically before joining Travelnest.

How to handle listings outside Travelnest

This guidance is for listings you created and manage yourself outside Travelnest, such as direct listings on Airbnb or Booking.com.

When you begin working with Travelnest, any existing direct listings should be temporarily snoozed or deactivated. This prevents duplicate listings and avoids double bookings when Travelnest publishes your property.

If your property is already live on Travelnest and managed by us, you should not make changes directly on external booking sites.

If you choose to keep your own listings active on external platforms, it is essential to take two steps to prevent duplicate listings and double bookings:

Deselect the external booking site in Travelnest
This ensures Travelnest will not create a listing on that platform on your behalf. You can do this in the Channels section of your account.

Sync your calendars both ways
Make sure your Travelnest calendar and your external calendars are fully synchronised so bookings on one platform automatically block the corresponding dates on the other.

FAQ

Why do I need to snooze/deactivate my existing listings?

Travelnest creates a single property profile and uses it to publish listings across the channels you select in your Channels section.

If you already manage active listings on those platforms yourself, this can cause duplicate listings and double bookings. To avoid this, you must snooze or deactivate their existing direct listings before Travelnest creates new ones. And it must remain snoozed or deactivated for the period you are with Travelnest.

What if I want to keep my property on other booking sites?

If you continue to manage your own listings outside Travelnest, you are responsible for keeping your Travelnest calendar up to date for any external bookings. This can be done by manually blocking dates or using our iCal synchronisation tool.

Do note though, you cannot have duplicate listings on multiple sites. This is a breach of your terms with Travelnest and the channels.

How to manage listings on major platforms

The steps below apply only to listings you created and manage yourself.

Airbnb

Airbnb allows you to snooze, temporarily unlist, or deactivate your listing. Travelnest recommends temporarily unlisting your property, which removes it from search results but allows you to reactivate it later.

• Deactivating cancels any future bookings
• Snoozing allows you to honour existing bookings while pausing new ones

See Airbnb’s guide on temporarily unlisting or removing a property.

Booking.com

Booking.com lets you snooze your listing from your extranet account. This temporarily suspends your property for a period you choose. Travelnest recommends using this temporary snooze option. You can reactivate your listing before your selected end date.

See Booking.com’s guide on closing a property temporarily.

Vrbo

Vrbo allows you to hide your listing from search results for a set period, similar to Airbnb.

See Vrbo’s guide on hiding your listing.

Expedia

Expedia requires contacting their support team to deactivate listings. You can do this through Expedia Partner Central.

How do I snooze my Travelnest listing?

You cannot snooze or deactivate a Travelnest managed listing in the same way as a direct listing on Airbnb or Booking.com.

If you want to pause bookings for a Travelnest listing, block the dates in your Travelnest calendar. This keeps your listing live on booking sites but prevents new bookings for the dates you block.

If you want to stop listing on a specific booking site while staying with Travelnest, deselect the channel in the Channels section of your account. See our How to remove your property from a booking site article for step by step guidance.

If you want to leave Travelnest entirely, you will need to book a call with our team. See our How to leave Travelnest article for next steps.
