How does Travelnest commission work?
Understand what commission Travelnest charges, when fees are deducted, whether VAT applies, and when you get paid for your bookings.
Travelnest charges a 5% commission on bookings made through Travelnest. Bookings made through booking channels also include a 15% channel commission.
If a booking is made through Travelnest Direct, only the 5% Travelnest commission applies.
Travelnest manages the channel commission for you, including guest payments and payouts, so you always know what charges apply to each booking.
Is there a setup fee or monthly subscription?
No. Joining Travelnest is free. There are no setup fees or monthly subscription fees. You only pay when you receive a booking.
This gives you access to 30+ global booking channels, all Travelnest features, and support to help optimise your listings.
Does VAT apply?
VAT depends on where your account is registered.
If your account is registered in the UK or Northern Ireland
VAT will be applied to your fees and deducted from your payout.
If you are VAT registered in the UK, you may be able to reclaim this VAT.
You will receive a VAT invoice with each payment, showing a breakdown of fees for each booking.
If your account is registered outside the UK
UK VAT will not be charged.
You are responsible for paying any VAT or other taxes required under your local laws.
To remain exempt from UK VAT, you must provide an international correspondence address or business address in your Travelnest account.
To clarify, VAT will only be applied to accounts registered with a UK or Northern Ireland address.
When does Travelnest charge fees?
Travelnest fees are only charged on bookings where a guest stays, or on cancelled bookings where the guest does not receive a full refund.
The 5% Travelnest fee and 15% channel commission (plus VAT if applicable) are deducted from each booking when payment is made to you. You can view the full breakdown in your Travelnest account.
When do I get paid?
Payments and statements are issued weekly on Wednesdays.
They cover bookings for guests who arrived up to the previous Sunday.
