Hosting rules in Spain

Understand the property information and local permissions to check before advertising short-term accommodation in Spain.

Before you advertise your property

Hosting requirements in Spain depend on national rules, the autonomous community and the municipality where your property is located.

Check the registrations, permissions and tax information that apply to your accommodation before advertising. Completing fields in Travelnest does not, by itself, establish full legal compliance.

What property and identification details do I need?

Where can I get help?

  • Your autonomous community’s tourism authority: Ask about regional accommodation registration and operating rules.
  • Your Ayuntamiento: Confirm municipal requirements and restrictions.
  • The relevant tax authority or a qualified local adviser: Ask about tax reporting and the identification required for your circumstances.
  • Host Support: For help entering information in your Travelnest account, contact Host Support.

Travelnest can help with account information, but cannot confirm that your property meets every legal requirement.
