Guest service fees

How guest service fees affect the total booking price shown to travellers

Guest service fees

Some booking platforms include guest service fees as part of the total price shown to travellers when they make a booking.

These charges are added on top of the nightly rate you set for your property and are paid by the guest as part of their total booking amount.

Importantly, the price you set in your Travelnest account is always used to calculate your payout. Travelnest will never increase the price you set for your property.

How guest service fees work

Across the short-term rental industry, many booking platforms include guest service fees as part of the final booking price. These charges help cover things such as payment processing, platform operations, and guest support.

Because Travelnest distributes listings across multiple booking platforms, the total price shown to guests may sometimes include these types of charges.

These fees form part of the total booking price shown to the guest, but they do not change the nightly rate you set for your property.

What this means for hosts

The price you set for your property remains the same.

Your payout is always calculated using the nightly rate you set in your Travelnest account. Any additional guest service fees are added to the guest’s total booking price and do not increase or change the price you set.

If you have questions about how pricing appears on different booking platforms, our Host Support team will be happy to help.
