Understand what AirCover covers, what it doesn’t, and how Travelnest helps with Airbnb damage claims
What is AirCover
Airbnb AirCover is Airbnb’s protection programme for hosts. It may cover certain types of guest-caused damage or unexpected cleaning costs for stays booked through Airbnb.
If your Airbnb guest causes damage to your property or leaves it in an unacceptable condition, AirCover allows a claim to be reviewed by Airbnb, based on evidence and their policies.

What AirCover includes

Damage to your property or belongings caused by a guest

Extra cleaning required due to guest behaviour

Loss of income if future Airbnb bookings must be cancelled because of guest damage
Coverage decisions are made by Airbnb and depend on the evidence provided.

What is not covered
AirCover does not cover:

Normal wear and tear

Maintenance issues or pre-existing damage

Damage caused by weather or natural events

Injury to guests or third parties

Issues unrelated to the Airbnb stay
Airbnb may also decline claims if evidence is incomplete or deadlines are missed
Who submits AirCover claims?
Travelnest submits Airbnb AirCover claims on behalf of hosts.
Hosts cannot submit AirCover claims themselves through Airbnb when listed with Travelnest. Our Host Support team handles the submission and communication once the required details are collected.

Evidence requirements
Airbnb typically requires:

Clear photos or videos of the damage

A description of what happened

Repair or cleaning invoices or quotes

Confirmation the damage was caused by the guest
Providing clear evidence improves the likelihood of Airbnb reviewing the claim.
Important timing information
Airbnb applies strict time limits to AirCover claims.
Claims must be raised shortly after checkout, and delays can result in rejection.
If damage has occurred, it’s important to act promptly.
If your booking was not made on Airbnb
AirCover applies only to Airbnb bookings.
Other booking platforms do not offer host damage protection. For non-Airbnb bookings, hosts are responsible for managing security deposits and resolving damage issues directly with guests.
